Turning in Homework
Due Date
- Weekly homework assignments are available on the website on Thursday.
- Electronic copy is due at 11:59 pm (just before midnight)
the following Wednesday via Chalk Assignment manager.
- Hard copy is due the next day (Thursday) at the beginning of class.
- The hard copy must correspond exactly to the version
handed in electronically.
- No late homework will be accepted.
Submitting Your Work
- Homework assignments must be handed in both electronicaly and as hard copy.
- The first line of your program must be a comment with
your name, id, course number and homework number
- The hard copy must correspond exactly to
the version submitted electronically.
It must include the C++ functions,
and a transcript of interactions that exercise
your program run on required data (if supplied),
or on a suitably complex set of data.
- The program code is submitted both electronically and as hard copy.
The program output is submitted as hard copy only.
- Zip your files (if you have more than one file to submit).
Select all the files you intend to submit, and (if on a Mac) right click and select "Create Archive."
The archive file created is the one you will upload.
(There are a number of options available for zipping on a Windows machine.
Anything that outputs into the standard ZIP or GZIP formats is acceptable.)
- Upload your zip file using the Assignment Manager.
Log in to Chalk and select the course homepage for CMSC 10600
Click "Assignments" on the left.
Find the assignment you are submitting, and select "View/Complete Assignment".
Attach the zip file using the "Browse..." button.
- Saving vs. submitting.
At this point, you can save your work by clicking the "Save" button.
This will allow you to download it from another computer,
or to upload newer versions later.
The course staff CANNOT see work which is only saved.
To submit your work to the instructors, you must click "Submit."
- Submit your work.
After you have uploaded the final version of your zip file,
you may add any comments you have for the instructors into the "Comments" field.
Then click "Submit."
POLICY ON COLLABORATION
Programs, homework and examinations are to be completed
without collaboration with any other person.
However, you may discuss with your colleagues
the general nature of the solutions to homework problems.
Violations of this policy will be reported to the College Dean of Students.
In addition, the student will receive a zero grade on the
program, homework or examination.
Come talk to me if you have any questions about acceptable vs. unacceptable collaboration.
